Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Big no to the Maoists” (November 13). It is heartening to note that Maoist violence did not deter the common man from casting his vote even in insurgent strongholds. It again proves that democracy will prevail over any hurdle, come what may.
As for the outcome of the Chhattisgarh Assembly election, it will be determined by the social welfare schemes run by incumbent Chief Minister Raman Singh. Hopefully, if the BJP returns to power again, Mr Singh might do some substantial work in areas where he could not focus earlier.
