Sir — Congress veteran ND Tiwari, who hoped to become the Prime Minister, has backed the BJP at the age of 91 after perceived snubs from Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi. Tiwari’s surprise move comes after decades of being a Congressman, Minister, Governor and squeezing in a short but scintillating interval of heading his own party.
Unfortunately, he had an unceremonious exit from Raj Bhavan of Andhra Pradesh after a tape featuring him in a compromising position was aired by a local television channel. We might feel exhausted just watching Tiwari’s hectic record. But clearly, for the BJP’s recruit, age is just a number. It may fetch the party dividend.
