Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Modi scores a big six” (June 7). Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has once again proved his charisma and his hold over the electorate. One can only hope BJP patriarch and mentor lK Advani has finally taken note of the ground reality.
Although Mr Modi’s formal declaration as the party’s prime ministerial candidate may have to wait a bit longer, the new mandate expected to be handed out in Goa will, for all intents and purposes, legitimise his national pre-eminence as the countdown for the next lok Sabha election begins. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar too will soon realise that. Mr Modi is gradually emerging larger than life in the NDA’s scheme of things for the 2014 poll.
