AAP disappointment

Pachu Menon

Sir — The birth of the Third Front, as a grouping of 11 non-UPA and non-NDA parties coming together and working to defeat the Congress and the BJP in the coming lok Sabha election and provide an alternative with a ‘secular, federal and pro-people development agenda’, throws the game of chances wide open.

With the realisation dawning on the masses that there is more to politics than applauding the performance of the Congress and the BJP after every counting of ballots, it is apparent that the future belongs to those who promise to resolve only, and only, the common man’s issues. The Aam Aadmi Party was one such alternative. If only it had translated its fiery activism into effective governance in Delhi, it would have been a real choice. It is dismaying that AAP leaders are keener on restricting the ‘lotus-and-Hand’ authority rather than building up influence with the electorate through goals that can be achieved.
