Sir — While we have heard of bankers involved in frauds, misappropriation of funds and extending credit facilities for pecuniary benefits, this is the first time we have come across a banker from Mumbai who has sought sexual favours from a poor Dalit woman to process her husband’s application for a crop loan.
It is unfortunate that instead of considering loan applications from farmers on a priority basis, Rajesh Hivase, the manager of the Central Bank of India, Bhuldhana branch has demanded sexual favours from the wife of the farmer to process their application. It is expected that an exemplary punishment is given to the manager and the people who have acted as the facilitator of the crime. As a retired banker, I bow my head in shame over this highly condemnable criminal act of a fellow banker.
