Sir — This refers to the editorial, “The female principle” (February 26). Time and again it has been proved that women can achieve better than men, provided they are given a chance. Women can scale many a height and they will fit into any operation. Prime Minister Modi had stated in his monthly ‘Maan Ki Baat’ programme that the country is now moving from the path of women development to women-led development. Clearly, he meant that women form an integral part of the development of the country.
While the Prime Minister had stated that it should be the fundamental duty of every one to ensure the participation of women in every sphere of life, one wonders why our leaders are hesitant to pass the Women’s Reservation Bill. Is it because of the lurking fear that women will outsmart menIJ When political parties can allot as many seats as possible to women, even without passing the Bill, it is not time for the leaders to walk the talkIJ
