Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Shastri is back, after all” (July 13). The appointment of Ravi Shastri as the coach of the Indian cricket team is a fairly reasonable decision. Ravi Shastri is a competent and forthright person and possesses sharp cricketing sense.He is bound to play an important role in shaping Indian crioket. Having said that, the manner and circumstance in which Anil Kumble was made to feel unwelcome towards the end of his tenure as the coach, leaves many questions unanswered. One can easily infer that Virat Kohli was the person behind Kumble’s resignation. One can also say that success has made Kohli arrogant and insensitive.
