Sir — This refers to the article, “Still a long way from creating a ‘new India’” (May 26) by PK Vasudeva. India, being at 131st position in Human Development Index, is still miles from creating a ‘new India’.
Norway is the world’s happiest country in terms of World Happiness Report, 2017. Indeed, Norway has given top priority to human development. It was at the top of the list of Human Development Index in 2015 and 2016. Norway has shown the way to make people happy. Development should only be for the good of the people in the best way possible.
