Sir — This refers to the report, “Sonu Nigam shaves off his head to protest fatwa” (April 20). Noise pollution has become a serious concern for our generation. We have become so hardened that we do not hear any more the wind blowing, the cock crowing and the cuckoo singing.
Our festivals are celebrated with fireworks and loud music. Politicians of all hues canvass for themselves or their parties by yelling into microphones with multiple numbers of speakers. This needs to be stopped. We need to wage a war against noise pollution in order to make the earth a better place to live in.
