Sir — This refers to the report, “Stop endorsing ‘donkeys’ of Guj: Akhilesh to Big B” (February 21). It was shocking that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav chose to stoop so low to pass such a pathetic statement against mega star Amitabh Bachchan in an election rally just for vote-banks.
The Samajwadi Party and the BJP are fighting a fierce political battle in the State but Akhilesh Yadav should have kept it in mind that he holds a constitutional post and such insensitive remarks does not befit his stature. The least he should do is that he must apologise to the people of the State and the Prime Minister for his intemperate remark.
