This refers to the editorial, “President Donald Trump” (November 11). Republican Donald Trump has stunned the world by defeating the heavily favoured Hillary Clinton. Trump, who at 70 will be the oldest first-term US President, has come out on top after a bitter and divisive campaign that focused on the character of the candidates. Trump positioned himself as a true conservative on touchstone domestic issues like gun control, abortion and the like. He wasn’t always convincing on them probably because he doesn’t believe in many of them. After all, this is a native of New York, one of the most liberal locales in the world, and Trump was a registered Democrat for much of his life.
