This refers to the editorial, “An untimely remark” (July 30). The soft peddling remark by Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti regarding the killing of Burhan Wani is in bad taste. While the Union Government, the security forces have been displaying firmness over the successful execution of the most dreaded militant, Mehbooba Mufti has caused grave damage to the resolution of Indian nation in its fight against terror.
Mehbooba Mufti must not forget that she is running a coalition Government with the support of the BJP. The Jammu & Kashmir BJP and the Union Government must convey their displeasure towards her attitude and warn her against such posture in the near future. The security forces too deserve a free-hand in liquidating the jihadi separatists and use of pallet guns against the stone pelting sympathisers.
