Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Team Modi’s makeover” (July 7). It is good that Smriti Irani has been shifted from the Human Resource Development Ministry to the textile Ministry. However, it would have been better if she had been dropped from the Council of Ministers altogether. Irani could not handle her portfolio well and was a constant headache for the Prime Minister. She gave a clean burial to the Scheme of Interest Subsidy for Education loans. Thousands of poor students were denied full benefits of this scheme.
