This refers to the returning of the Sahitya Akademi Award by Jawaharlal Nehru’s niece Nayantara Sahgal. The very fact that Ms Sahgal, like leaders of the Congress, has brought in the present regime to justify her decision, shows that this move is more of a political ploy than one of genuine concern. Ms Sahgal should do concrete work and not indulge in cheap gimmicks.
Meanwhile, jungle raj is back in Bihar, and the Rashtriya Janata Dal’s footprints are clearly visible. It’s sad but true that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has desperately compromised on his principles for the sake of power.
