Sir — This refers to the editorial, “There’s much in a name” (August 31). A bigot and an austere puritan, Aurangzeb was no lover of art and literature. His acts, deeds and oppressive policies towards the Hindus infuriated a great majority of people against him. In contrast, former President APJ Abdul Kalam symbolises peace, compassion truth and piety. He was a true secularist. The renaming of Aurangzeb Road was long overdue.
