Bewildered by the significant number of ticket aspirants for the coming Assembly polls in every constituency of the State, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has initiated an exercise to appease the aspirants in a bid to thwart any possibility of rebellion and to maintain unity in the party after the ticket allotment.
BJP State co-incharge, Dr Anil Jain and State organising general secretary Suresh Bhatt, had on Saturday interacted with the ticket aspirants in Rohtak for the purpose.
The leaders tried to convince the aspirants that they would be accommodated in the Government in case of not getting the party ticket. This is the time to pull their socks up to strengthen the party’s cadre at booth-level instead of waiting for the ticket allotment.
The saffron party office-bearers during the interaction said collective and collaborative endeavor were the only key to ensure the party’s victory in the coming Assembly polls and it was possible only due to unity.
“You can carry on efforts to get the party ticket till the end of ticket allotment process but will have to work in tandem after declaration of the party candidate if you want to bring the BJP in power with full mandate,” they added.
Jain made it clear that the party had formulated criteria to select the winnable candidate keeping in view of various poll aspects hence the tickets would be allotted as per the criteria.
“Since ticket will be given to one aspirant from a constituency thus other ones need not to be discontented as they will also be accommodated if BJP is voted to power in the state,” he added.
One of the aspirants on the condition of anonymity said that the party leadership was perplexed by high numbers of ticket seekers from every assembly segment and was taking full time before finalising the candidates in order to avoid any possible rebellion.
“The leadership fears revolt and infighting in the party following those aspirants who will not be able to get the ticket hence it wants to thwart the possible situation by convincing all aspirants well before the ticket announcement. Under the move, the exercise has been initiated which will also be followed in other parts of the state,” he added.
Notably, Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) had last week snapped its political alliance with the BJP, accusing the party of betrayal.
