Advocating development of eastern Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath said that the region is craving for development and skill development centres can open a window of opportunity for the educated youth of this area. He was speaking in Gorakhpur after inaugurating a Skill Development centres there on Sunday.
“The Eastern Uttar was once hub of all industrial activities of Uttar Pradesh. We had fertiliser factories and many sugar factories in this region. But slowly the machines went silent and people became unemployed. This led to poverty and this vicious cycle is continuing,” Yogi said.
Chief Ministers said that the time has come to revive the industry. The beginning should be made by imparting skill development training to the educated youth so that they can get employment at their door steps. If we can do it, we will win half of the battle, he said. He also planted a sapling in the compound of the fertiliser plant.
Yogi was on a two day visit to his home town of Gorakhpur. This is his fifth visit to Gorakhpur after he became Chief Minister. This visit was also important because he celebrated Guru Purnima in the Gorakhnath temple compound with his disciples. “The Guru Purnima is the day when you remember your Guru who has exposed you to the light of knowledge. It is the Guru who has given you inspiration and shown you the right path. This festival has shown a new path to world because Gurus are always trend setters,” Chief Minister said while addressing hundreds of Sants and his disciples who had gathered at the Temple.
The function was marked by a minor stampede when people swarmed the temple compound when they came to know that Chief Minister is in town. They all wanted to give their application. The barricades set up to control crowd caved in resulting in a stampede. Few women received minor injuries and were given first said.
later, in the day Yogi visited the encephalitis ward of the BRD College and enquired from patients about the quality of treatment they were getting in the hospital. “Patients should get best possible treatment and this BJP Government is working in this direction,” he said.
