Yogi launches e-Pension portal

PNS

On the occasion of Labour Day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath rolled out a new platform — e-Pension portal — to ensure transparent and hassle-free disbursement of pension to the retired Government employees. During the launch of the portal on Sunday, the Chief Minister said, “Labour Day marks the hard work and contribution of each worker towards the growth of the state. The e-Pension portal will end the struggles of those receiving pensions and will make the process transparent, paperless, contactless and cashless.”

Taking note of complaints and grievances of the state government employees who superannuate from services, the portal will track the status of their applications (PPO) and will ease the lives of lakhs of people who will benefit from it. “Through technology, Uttar Pradesh, in the last five years, has brought revolutionary changes in the lives of its 25 crore people. The government is making consistent efforts to introduce technology in every field,” the chief minister said.

Speaking about the portal, Yogi said that it was the effort of the Finance department to end the pain and agony of the senior citizens. “This end to end online pension portal has been developed to make the process of receiving pension simpler and it will eliminate the need for pensioners to go anywhere physically,” he added.

On the occasion, Yogi stressed on making good use of knowledge, experience and efforts of the retired employees which could help in value addition towards the progress and development of the state.

Praising the services of the workers, Yogi said, “Each worker’s hard work matters and has contributed to the progress of the state. You will be recognised as ‘Pension-Yogi’ not ‘Pension-Bhogi’ as you are a ‘Karm-Yogi’,” he remarked.

Working on the guidelines provided by the Union government, the state Finance department has created the portal which will have the option of tracking the status of employees who attain the age of 59years six months. It will benefit around 11.5 lakh pensioners in the state. This system has been implemented for the state government employees and soon other departments will also join the process which will benefit lakhs of people and no one will have to run for pension, the chief minister said.

Listing the efforts of the government towards providing social and economic security to the labourers, Yogi said that every worker, whether migrant or resident, had been provided an insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh and health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh.
