PNS

In a veiled attack on the Samajwadi Party, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said in the Assembly  that his Government would treat criminals like criminals.

“There will be no crime under political patronage in UP. The criminals would be treated like criminals and there would be no discrimination,’’ said Yogi while intervening in a debate in the Assembly during the Question Hour on Tuesday.

A starred question on law and order was jointly tabled by Nitin Agarwal of the Samajwadi Party and Sukhdeo Rajbhar and lalji Verma of the Bahujan Samaj Party. “Due to political compulsions, the Opposition will not admit but they and people close to them do believe that there is noticeable improvement in the law and order front ever since the Bharatiya Janata Party Government took over,’’ stressed the CM.

Yogi added, “Its an open secret as to who were behind the crimes in UP. I want to assure the House that only the ‘rule of law’ will prevail in the State.”

Questioning the political validity of the Opposition charges on law and order, the CM said, “The BJP Government has not yet completed even two months in office and the Opposition was trying to compare it with the misrule of past 14 years. let the Government complete one year, then we will answer all your queries on law and order.  Rule of law will prevail in UP and no one will be spared, irrespective of political affiliations.’’
