Woman found killed in her S Delhi home

Staff Reporter

A 25-year-old woman was found murdered by unknown assailants at her rented accommodation in South Delhi’s Govindpuri area on Friday evening. The woman’s body was found in her bedroom while the entire room was ransacked apparently to mislead the police. Police said that nothing valuable was missing from the house.

Rekha Bhardwaj, the deceased, was living in the two-bedroom rented flat with her husband Pradeep Kumar, who works as a consultant with a private company in Haryana’s Faridabad. Police said that Kumar is her second husband and the initial investigation into the murder has pointed the needle of suspicion towards the woman’s former husband.

Neighbours told police that they heard some voices of serious argument between Rekha and somebody from her flat a few hours, before she was discovered in a pool of blood by Pradeep.

A senior police officer said an FIR was registered on the complaint of Pradeep, who has been given a clean chit in the case. Police said they were trying to reach her first husband. They have also questioned several other persons, including her relatives.
