Will do it slowly, effectively: Rajini

Kumar Chellappan

Though his professional rival Kamal Haasan has launched a political outfit  Makkal Neethi Mayiam and commenced the State-wide journey to interact with his fans and prospective cadre, super star Rajinikanth has decided to go slow and steady with his political innings. “We should have a strong infrastructure and system to build an effective political party. We will do it slowly and effectively,” Rajinikanth told his fans from Tirunelveli district who had assembled at Chennai on Friday for an interaction with their idol.

Rajinikanth complimented Kamal Haasan for the well- orchestrated launching of Makkal Neethi Mayiam at Madurai on Wednesday. “I will have interactions with office bearers of my fans associations from all the 32 districts in Tamil Nadu. Then I will have undertake a tour across the State as a prelude to launch the political party,” said Rajinikanth after Friday’s interaction with office bearers of his fans association.

Interestingly, the Sun Movies, owned by Kalanidhi Maran and Dayanaidhi Maran announced on Friday that their next move would feature Rajinikanth in the lead role and the shooting would begin in three months time. The move is to be directed by young Karthik Subbaraj.

Rajinikanth is busy shooting for 2.0, a movie being made by S Shankar and the movie is expected by April.  Since he will be busy with the shooting of the Sun Movies film,  the political outfit to be launched by him may get delayed further, according to sources close to hm.

Meanwhile, leaders of the PMK said on Friday that the speech delivered by Kamal Haasan at Madurai during the launch of his political party was a carbon copy of the speeches made by Anbumani Ramadoss in the run up to the assembly election in May 2016. The style, substance and words were the repetition of what Anbumani, the PMKs’ chief ministerial candidate said during his campaign,” said a PMK spokesman.

Haasan had told on Wednesday that he would offer neither quarter (slang for liquor bottle) or scooter and he was totally against freebie culture practiced by the Dravidian parties. Anbumani Ramadoss had used the same words and  had vehemently opposed the distribution of cash and kind for  getting votes.
