Sending out a ‘stern’ warning to the terror outfits operating in Kashmir valley, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said India will crush the backbone of terrorists by giving a ‘befitting’ reply to those who are targeting, ‘unarmed’, ‘innocent’ and peace loving ‘kashmiris’.
The Prime Minister said the whole country is agitated over the ‘brutal’ killings of peace loving boys and girls in Kashmir.
Addressing a large gathering of people inside SKICC in Srinagar, soon after launching slew of developmental projects in the presence of Governor Satya Pal Malik, the Prime Minister said, “these youngsters were targeted by the terrorists because they wanted to live in peace and harmony”.
He said, “It is the hard reality of terrorism in Kashmir valley. I assure all of you we will fight with full force to defeat terrorism. We will crush their back bone. Every terrorist will be given a befitting reply.”
The Prime Minister said, “by carrying out ‘surgical strikes’ India has already demonstrated to the entire world what is country’s policy to deal with the menace of terrorism”.
Paying glowing tributes to the martyred soldiers, hailing from the State of Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister said,” the real ‘heroes’ of Kashmir are Lance Naik Nazir Ahmad Wani, Rifleman Aurangzeb and sports star Tajamul Islam. They remained committed to peace and better future of the country.
He said, “Heroes live to realise their dreams and cowards kill dreams of others”.
During his day long visit to the State Prime Ministerunveiled a series of development projects to the tune of 44,000 crores to give a boost to infrastructure in the state.
Earlier, addressing a ‘Maharally’ in Vijaypur area of Samba district, after laying foundation stone of AIIMS, Jammu, Prime Minister said, “the battle of 2019 was also a “fight” for taking the country ahead on the path of progress and development”.
PM began his speech in chaste Dogri language to strike a chord with the mammoth crowd present in the pandal. “Aap logo ki support se, ek Naya Bharat baneyga, jo saksham bhi hoga aur sashakt bhi,” he added.
In the first leg of his visit to Leh, Prime Minister had also made a pitch for his return to the post, saying he will return to inaugurate schemes for which he is laying foundations stones today.
“I have inaugurated schemes which I had inaugurated earlier and I will come back to inaugurate schemes for which I am laying foundation stones today,” he said.
Attacking the Congress over its promise of farm loan waiver during Vijaypur rally, Prime Minister said the Congress party uses the measure only to win elections.
“People know the track record of the country’s ‘naamdar’. They get ‘fever’ of loan waivers just before elections... They try to act as ‘messiah’ of farmers by announcing farm loan waivers once in 10 years,” he said referring to the UPA rule.
He said the Congress had promised to waive farmers’ loans worth Rs 6 lakh crore in 2008-09, but it gave a loan relief of Rs 52,000 crore only after coming to power, he claimed.
“CAG report found that about 25-30 lakh people who got loan waiver were not even eligible for it,” Modi revealed.
Ridiculing the loan waivers given by the Congress in Madhya Pradesh, the Prime Minister said some beneficiaries have been given cheques of Rs 13 only.
He said under his direct benefit transfer PM-KISAN scheme, Rs 75,000 crore will be allocated annually. It means Rs 7.50 lakh crore will be deposited in farmers’ accounts in the next 10 years.
