Seeking active participation of the elected representatives of the three tier panchayatraj institutions in the implementation of the development and welfare schemes UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said on Wednesday that this will ensure that the benefit of the schemes will reach the most deserving person and the intended beneficiary.

Admitting leakage and other difficulties in the implementation of the welfare schemes CM said `` it’s the responsibility of the elected representatives of the panchayatraj institutions particularly the Village pradhan to ensure that the benefit of the welfare schemes reaches the intended beneficiary’’.

Recounting his experience of visit to Bahriach district CM said ` I found in kartaniya ghat area of the district that the houses constructed under `lohia Awas Yojna’ were cornered by the well off people even as the intended beneficiary of the rural housing scheme are the poor and the downtrodden sections of the society’’. He said so far the government has constructed one lakh houses and same number of more houses will be constructed. They will also be provided wither solar power.

``Despite heavy odds in the distribution of milk to children under mid day meal scheme the government has been able to  serve 90 percent of the children in state run primary schools, this figure can be further improved  if the elected panchayat representative intervene with a firm resolve’’.

CM said `` similar is the case of distribution of free bicycles to the deserving persons, in the entire state  the labour minister  Shahid Manzoor   has distributed maximum number of cycles in his home district  Meerut’’

Referring `Samajwadi Pension Yojna’, CM said `` to curb the leakage ion the scheme Government has ensured that the money is directly credited in the saving bank account of the beneficiaries, yet I wish the elected panchayat leaders to come forward and assist the Government to help the

most disadvantaged sections of the society’’.
