We are winning hands down in UP: BJP

PNS

The BJP on Monday claimed that it will form the Government in Uttar Pradesh, which, it alleged, was “looted” by a combine of SP, BSP and the Congress for years. The party also attacked Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi saying  he was accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi due to his “frustration” over the successful anti-black money drive of the BJP-led NDA Government.

BJP National General Secretary Shrikant Shama said, Congress, SP and BSP know that BJP will be forming “a majority Government” in UP and therefore, in frustration are using “diversionary tactics” of accusing the Prime Minister. He said the fat black earning of  these political parties has been rendered “useless” by Modi’s demonetisation drive. He said all these parties are saving the “corrupt” and making efforts to oust the Prime Minister.

“Rahul Gandhi is frustrated and desperate due to the success of Modi’s campaign against black money and corruption. He is, perhaps, most hurt by demonetisation, so he is levelling untrue and baseless allegations. That is why he raked up charges which the Supreme Court had refused to take note of.

“He talks about the Government not disclosing the names of people having unauthorised accounts in foreign banks. We have handed over the list to the SIT. Disclosing names will only help the suspects as our Government then will not get help from these countries. This is what he wants,” said  BJP  leader.

He said that former Union Minister Preneet Kaur’s name had cropped up in one such list of foreign account holders. She has maintained that she never had such an account.

Rahul is himself out on bail in the National Herald case of corruption, he said, claiming that industry groups run by Adani brothers and Anil Ambani had run up debt of Rs 72,000 crore and Rs 1.13 lakh crore respectively during the UPA Government.

“UPA Government had waived off debts running into over Rs 36 lakh crore to corporate groups. Our Government is working to recover their debts,” he said, responding to the charge that the Modi Government was “pro-rich and pro-corporate”.

Addressing a public rally in Baran in Rajasthan, Rahul alleged that Modi functioned only for the rich and that the note ban decision “is not against corruption but is an economic lockdown. It is not against black money but against the poor, farmers, labourers and women”.

Sharma said by giving “a transparent and decisive Government” at the Centre, the PM has lighted “hope” in Uttar Pradesh which had been facing chaos under the rule of rival parties in the past. BJP is determined to relieve UP from “misgovernance, corruption and lawlessness”, he claimed.
