The father of the Madhyamgram rape-and-murder victim, who was earlier offered a job in Bihar Police force by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday iterated his acceptance of the job did not mean his fleeing Bengal or his surrendering the demand for justice for his departed daughter.

The victim's father, who returned to Kolkata on Tuesday noon after meeting Kumar in Patna, said he had been offered a driver's job in Bihar Police by the CM "and I have accepted the job as I have no security hear in Bengal as the goons of the ruling Trinamool Congress are always trailing us. They have threatened to kill us if we do not leave Bengal and we fear that they will avenge us sooner or later."

However, he said, "I have decided to stick to my earlier vow not to spare the culprits." He said soon after reaching Howrah that "I will ensure that the culprits are hanged like those who got the ultimate sentence in Delhi rape case."

He said "I will work in Bihar but keep coming to Kolkata to fight for justice for my daughter, who kept crying for justice but failed to get it from the State Government and its police who instead of giving protection to my daughter, sided with the goons and threatened to eliminate us if we did not leave Bengal."

He complained: "While the goons surrounded our house after the death of my daughter and threatened to kill us, police and even the SP looked the other way. I have no faith in the State Government. Still I vow to come back repeatedly and fight for the case."

A 13-year-old school girl, who had migrated to Madhyamgram, some 30 km north of Kolkata from Samastipur district of Bihar, was repeatedly raped, despite police complaints being lodged against the culprits, and was finally burnt alive by her tormentors.

"And all these happened under the nose of the State Government headed by a woman CM," the mother of the victim said, reminiscing how police and the goons backed by the ruling outfit collaborated in victimising the family.

Apart from hitting the national headlines, the issue has created a lot of ill-feeling between the Governments of Bihar and Bengal. with a couple of Bengal Ministers hitting out at the Bihar Chief Minister for interfering in the affairs of other States which was "against the principle of federalism."
