Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that State run universities should introduce job-oriented courses so that educated youth can get employment after getting degrees from the recognised universities.
“The focus should be on women. The colleges and universities should introduce such courses like nursing which give importance to women and open job opportunities for them,” Yogi said during a function where the pass-outs from the Gorakshnath School of Nursing and College of Nursing where administered an oath in Gorakhpur on Sunday.
He said that nursing has a vast employment opportunity. If the colleges can impart quality nursing education to the girls these can turn into job factories. Big hospitals and nursing homes will make a bee-line to give jobs to these trained nurses.
“This step will not only economically empower these girls but also give them social recognition. The Nursing institute in Gorakshnath temple was set up many years back but Gorakhpur University did not give recognition to them. “When this issue was brought to the knowledge ofGovernor Ram Naik he immediately gave approval and courses are recognized since 2016-17,” Yogi said.
Governor Ram Naik in his address stressed on human service being imparted by these nurses. “After Independence India has made progress in many sectors but it did not match the progress made in health and education sector,” he said.
“The need of the hour is to link education with job. Early we do it, better it is for the country,” he said.
Around 150 nurses took oath to serving the humanity till their last breath.
