Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) approved key proposals on industrial land acquisition, industrial parks, land allotment policy reforms and infrastructure development at its 52nd Board Meeting held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Alok Kumar, Chairman of the UPSIDA Board and Additional Chief Secretary, Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department.
The decisions aim to strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s industrial infrastructure, attract investment, improve administrative transparency and generate employment opportunities.
The Board approved proposals for additional expenditure on land purchases in Sandila tehsil, Hardoi, and Mau tehsil, Chitrakoot, along with land acquisition proposals in Hardoi and Mirzapur districts. It also approved a land exchange proposal for the proposed Lalitpur Pharma Park, to be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The committee will refer the proposal to the next committee for further consideration. The project is expected to promote pharmaceutical manufacturing, research, investment and employment in the Bundelkhand region.
Land acquisition for Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited’s (BPCL) LPG Bottling Plant and Bulk Dispatch Terminal in Kanpur Nagar was also approved, along with the related ex-post facto approval proposal.
The Board approved the layout plan for the Perfume Park in Kannauj and directed that industrial units on allotted plots begin operations at the earliest. It also approved the Model Building Regulations-2026 to bring greater uniformity and transparency to construction and development procedures.
To facilitate investors, the minimum qualifying score for plots over 500 square metres under UPSIDA’s land allotment policy was reduced from 60 to 50 marks. The revised development plan for Trans Ganga City in Unnao was also approved, retaining the total green area while incorporating amenities such as a golf course, club and villas. Additionally, the Government will fill certain vacant engineering positions through deputation.
Alok Kumar emphasised the importance of industrial land availability, infrastructure development, transparent allotment procedures and simplified regulations. He expressed confidence that these measures would strengthen manufacturing, accelerate regional economic development and reinforce Uttar Pradesh’s position as a major industrial hub.
