launching the Dial 100 project in Bundelkhand region, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that only the Samajwadi Party could bring development in the rugged region as ‘it was committed to ensuring welfare of the people’.

“When people needed help, the SP Government came forward to extend help to flood and drought ravaged people of Bundelkhand. We provided Samajwadi Ration and also included women of Bundelkhand in Samajwadi Pension Scheme,” the CM said addressing a crowd during the launch of Dial 100 project in Hamirpur on Thursday.

“You have also seen a party which promised ‘achche din’ and sent an empty train to quench your thirst. How can a train reach villagesIJ Only tankers can reach remote areas of Bundelkhand. We had asked for tankers from the Centre but they sent a water train which incidentally did not have water,” said Yadav.

“The same party has now started a ‘mazak’ (joke) in the name of demonetisation. It has culled high value notes claiming this would stop flow of black money. Money cannot be black or white. It is the nature of transaction that is illegal. If you pay taxes, the same black money becomes white,” the CM said adding that farmers are queuing up outside banks and if votes are not used judiciously they would be forced to stand in many more lines.

Yadav said in true sense Samajwadis have brought ‘achche din’ for Bundelkhand. “It is our Government which has set up medical college in Banda and has also given a 500-beded hospital to this region,” the CM said.

“And now we have launched Dial 100 under which the police will reach the crime scene in less than 15 minutes. The 102 and 108 Ambulances have already made live easy for the people and this Dial 100 system will bring government closer to people,” he said.

Akhilesh Yadav flagged off jeeps for Dail 100 project for the districts of Jalaun, Mahoba and Hamirpur.

A piquant situation arose when activists of Bharatiya Kisan Union started protesting as the Chief Minister was addressing people. They threw chairs towards the dias demanding compensation for farmers. At one time, the CM stopped his speech and said that if they made noise like this he will send their letter to Centre and sit quiet. later the police whisked away the agitating farmers from the venue.
