Amid boycott by the Opposition members of the Budget session, Uttar Pradesh Assembly is expected to be extended for a day till Tuesday next following death of a sitting ruling party legislator.

With the Opposition sticking to its decision to boycott Vidhan Sabha, the Government had earlier announced to end the Budget session on Monday after passing appropriation bill and approving budgetary grants of Home and general administration.

But after the death of BJP member Mathura Prasad Pal the agenda of the House has been rescheduled. Pal, BJP’s MlA from Sikendra in Kanpur Dehat died after a prolonged illness on Saturday. As per the fresh agenda Assembly would be adjourned on Monday after paying tributes to the sitting member. The next day Government will take up Appropriation Bill.

The entire Opposition which had announced to boycott the assembly in protest against the government’s threat is likely to attend the House on Monday. Congress legislature party leader Ajay Kumar lalu said here on Sunday that condolence should be kept aside from politics. “Opposition leaders will meet tomorrow morning to decide on the matter,” he said.
