Although the pro-talk faction of Ulfa member are hopeful of deported Ulfa general secretary Anup Chetia joining the peace wagon, Chetia is unlikely to participate in the next round of talks between the Government of India and the Ulfa faction, which is scheduled on November 24.

“We want Chetia to join the next round of talks to be held on November 24. Chetia is a key member of the outfit and we hope his extradition and joining of the peace process will add new dynamism to the talks,” said pro-talk faction Ulfa leader Pradip Gogoi.

“He seems to be very happy to be here. We could not talk much today but I am sure he would join us. The extradition of Chetia has been one of our main demands since we started the negotiation process,” added Gogoi.
