Three boys died in two separate road accidents in the Capital in the last 24 hours. In the first incident, two bikers were killed after their bike skidded in South-East Delhi's Jamia Nagar area on Friday evening. Police said that the deceased, Amir (18) and Zubair (16), studied at a Government school in Batla House.

The incident took place around 5.10 pm when the duo was heading towards the local market in Shaheen Bagh. "Eyewitnesses told the police that the biker was over-speeding and lost control over his bike. The bike then skidded and rammed into the central verge," a senior police officer said. The passersby then made a call to the police control room (PCR) at 5.23 pm and victims were taken to Holy Family Hospital where they were declared dead on arrival.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victims were wearing helmet, but suffered serious head injuries and had lost a lot of blood due to which they died. The post-mortem was conducted and the bodies were handed over to their family members. In another incident, an 18-year-old boy was mowed down by a DTC bus in North Delhi's Bara Hindu Rao area on Friday morning. Angered over the incident, nine buses were damaged by a mob, who also pelted stones at police. Victim's relatives and neighbours protested outside Bara Hindu Rao Police station against the accident and demanded action against the bus driver.

Police said that the deceased, Ainin Hyder, was riding a scooter which was hit by a DTC bus. "The incident occurred around 6:30 am near Azad market Chowk when the victim was crushed to death by an over-speeding DTC bus. The errant bus driver, Jagram Meena, was arrested from the spot. The situation was under control following deployment of police in the area," the officer added. Ainin is a school drop-out.
