More than seven months after a Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable shot dead his immediate superior and three other passengers onboard a running Jaipur-Mumbai Superfast Express train near Mumbai, two Railway Protection Force (RPF) constables have been dismissed from service.

On July 31, 2023, RPF constable Chetan Singh had on July 31 fired 12 rounds from his automatic weapon, killing his immediate superior and three other passengers onboard a running Jaipur-Mumbai Superfast Express train near Palghar railway station.

RPF constable Chetan Singh Chaudhury shot dead his superior officer Assistant Sub Inspector Teekaram Meena (57) and three passengers Abdul Kadarbhai Mohammed Hussain Bhanpurwala (62), a resident of Nalasopara in Palghar and Asgar Abbas Sheikh (48), a resident of Madhubani in Bihar and Syed Saifullah (43), a resident of Hyderabad.

After the incident, Singh had made a hate-speech - and video clips have gone viral on social media platforms.
