The Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS), led by Kalvakuntla Kavitha, has announced senior journalist Akash Kolluru as its candidate for the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar Graduates’ MLC constituency, marking the party’s first electoral contest since its formation in the State. Alongside the candidate announcement, Kavitha has appointed senior party leader Chitneni Raghu as observer and coordinator for the Hyderabad Graduates’ MLC constituency.
The party has already announced Nalamasa Srikanth Goud, a Backward Classes (BC) candidate, for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ MLC seat. With the selection of Kolluru for the second constituency, the party has fielded BC candidates in both constituencies.
Prominent advocate Ram Kalyan Challa has been appointed as the in-charge of election strategy and the party’s war room for both MLC constituencies.
Who is Akash Kolluru?
Akash Kolluru, the party’s candidate for the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar Graduates’ MLC constituency, is a Hyderabad resident with over a decade of experience in national media. He has worked with several prominent media organisations, including India Today, Republic TV, CNN-News18 and Dailyhunt.
Kolluru completed his schooling at The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, before graduating from Osmania University, where he was awarded a gold medal. With candidate announcements, strategic appointments and district-level coordination teams now in place, the Telangana Rakshana Sena is preparing for its first electoral contest in the state through the upcoming Graduates’ MLC elections.
