Trouble for Naidu deepens as ACB traces new names

Despite his strong lobbying with the Narendra Modi Government in New Delhi, troubles for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu seem to be growing by the day in the cash-for-vote scam. Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), probing the multi-crore cash for vote scam involving a Telugu Desam Party legislator, has made some significant progress in tracing the source of bribe money. According to the sources in ACB, several new names emerged during the course of investigation into the trail of money. The probe is likely to further expand as the evidence collected so far suggest that the bribe money was drawn from the accounts of companies belonging to the top leaders of Telugu Desam Party.

The ACB, which has already sent the phones, pen drive and the CPU of a computer containing the telephonic conversations between the nominated MlA Elvis Stephenson and the TDP leaders to the Forensic Sciences laboratory in Hyderabad for examination, is preparing a memo to be submitted in the ACB court. When asked whether the names of more VIPs will be added to the case, AK Khan, director general, ACB said for the agency there are no VIPs. “They are all accused,” he said adding that the investigation is moving slowly but steadily.
