Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb has landed himself in yet another controversy by saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has got a brother who still runs autorickshaw and mother lives in 10X12 house.
“He (Prime minster Modi) has got his mother, who is old but Prime Minister does not keep her in the Prime Minister’s official residence. She still lives in a 10X12 house,” said Deb while addressing a gathering at Agartala on Saturday.
“Prime Minister has got brother and sister. Where will you get such Prime Mminister? For last four years he has been Prime Minister and before that he was Chief Minister for 13 years. His brothers still run small grocery shop and drive auto rickshaw and mother lives in 10x12 house,” Deb said.
Sanjay Mishra, Officer on Special Duty in the Chief Minister's Office however said that the video which is being circulated is fabricated.
"The video is cut and paste. What Chief Minister meant was despite belonging to Prime Minister’s family, the family members including mother and brother move
in an auto rickshaw and live a very simple life,” said Mishra.
