PNS

A day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit,  Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) convener Hardik Patel and 50 of his supporters shaved their heads and initiated a march from Botad town to Bhavnagar by reiterating their demand to give reservation benefits to Patel community youth in Government jobs and educational institutions under OBC category.

Before initiating the march on Sunday afternoon, Hardik and others shaved their heads at lathidad village near Botad infront of mediapersons and kick-started their journey.

According sources in PAAS, they would roam around nearly 50 villages to create awareness among the people on various issues related to Patidar or Patel community including that of reservation under OBC category.

According to Hardik, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel and others in the Rupani Government were only calling Patidar leaders for meeting, but already a list of demands were given to them and they are not doing anything.

Patel further claimed that crores of rupees were spent for various irrigation projects, but there was no drop of water for farmers.

Thanking people who welcomed him at the starting point of the march, he said that he would fight the battle in the interest of community and farmers.
