In yet another embarrassment for the Trinamool Congress the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday issued summons to senior TMC leader and MP Saugato Roy in connection with the Narada pay off case. A CBI team served the summon notice at Roy’s residence sources said.

like his fellow party men including MPs and Ministers, Roy was allegedly shown in a sting video footage receiving hard cash from a journalist who posed as a businessman in the Narada pay off case.

Roy was summoned a day after a similar notice was served by Enforcement Directorate in the same case on Kolkata Mayor and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s blue-eyed boy Sovan Chatterjee who has taken two weeks’ time to respond to the summons. Another TMC MP Shatabdi Roy was also grilled by the CBI on Monday in connection with the Sharada chit fund case.

Meanwhile, senior TMC leader and MP Sultan Ahmed and his MlA brother Iqbal Ahmed had reportedly refused to give their voice samples to the CBI for examination in the Narada case sources said.

The Agency which had interrogated both the leaders earlier wasplanning to move the court to seek directions in the case, sources said.
