After the dairy expose by the BJP which allegedly had details of donations given to party high command by senior Congress leaders in the State, Siddaramaiah-led Congress Government in Karnataka is contemplating to move the SC against the order of the Karnataka High Court bringing life to de-notification cases against former Chief Minister and BJP State president BS Yeddyurappa.
According to sources in the Congress the dairy issue which has become a major political embarrassment to the party ahead of the ensuing Assembly polls in 2018 has decided to give a fresh lease of life to the cases pertaining to amassing of wealth illegally and denotification cases, in a bid to haul Yeddyurappa who is going full guns against the Congress. According to sources in the Congress, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah discussed the issue with law Minister TB Jayachandra and party in-charge Digvijay Singh to give life to 22 de-notification cases that are gathering rust, and filing of appeals in cases where the former Chief Minister has got a clean chit from the courts.
It is learnt that Siddaramaiah and law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister TB Jayachandra discussed with the law department and State Advocate General on Monday to re-open the de notification cases and DA cases against BJP chief Yeddyurappa.
A Congress source said party high command has given free hand to Chief Minister to hit back at Yeddyurappa who has in a way succeeded in exposing the Congress through the alleged diary entries which was seized in the house of Govindaraju a close confidant of Siddaramaiah.
Condemning the State Government’s reported move against Yeddyurappa as political vendetta to cover up the ‘Rs 1,000 crore diary scam’, BJP MlA and spokesperson Suresh Kumar said the campaign to expose the corrupt deeds of the Siddaramaiah Government will continue.
