Blaming the Congress for paving way for the BJP, Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav said that weak Congress leadership has allowed the communal parties to strengthen their hold in the country.
“The political scenario suggests that only Third Front will form the next Government at the Centre. Neither the Congress nor the BJP will get majority. The Samajwadi Party will play a crucial role in Government formation post elections,” Yadav said while addressing a rally in Banda in support of Bal Kumar Patel on Monday.
He said that the BSP is no where to be seen in the State. There is direct fight between the BJP and the Samajwadi Party across the State. People are happy with the work of Akhilesh Government and therefore they have decided to vote en bloc in favour of SP,” Yadav said.
Hitting out at BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Mulayam said that some of the senior BJP leaders do not want to see him as the Prime Minister.
“Modi has spread a canard about Gujarat model of development whereas the truth is it is nothing but a lie,” he said.
Reminding people of the sudden death of his brother Mulayam Singh said that he was in no position to come to Banda. “Still I am here because of you people. I had promised you that I will address a rally in Banda therefore I am here,” he said.
