A truck driver from Rajasthan was killed in cold blood by terrorists in Shirmal village of Shopian late Monday night. The truck driver was present in the area in connection with loading of apple boxes.
According to preliminary reports, terrorists also set on fire the truck after killing the truck driver. The local owner of the apple orchard was allegedly roughed up by the terrorists before they fled the area.
Local reports claimed, the villagers tried to save the truck driver but terrorists thrashed them as well before committing the gruesome crime. Police suspected involvement of terrorist groups of JeM and HM behind the terror act.
According to police spokesman, “at around 8 p.m Shopian police received information about a terror incident in the village Shirmal, Shopian where terrorists killed a civilian”. Consequently local police reached the spot.
According to the police spokesman, “Preliminary investigation revealed that terrorist shot dead a civilian named Sharif Khan of village Uba in district Bharatpur of Rajasthan”. “The deceased was a truck driver by profession and was in the village for apple loading”, police spokesman added.
Police has registered a FIR number 151/2019 U/S 364, 342, 302, 307, 459, 435 RPC, 7/27 Arms Act, Sec 16, 18, 20 of ULA and started investigation in the case
