At least 10 passengers were injured when an explosion took place inside a stationary Maharashtra transport bus at Nalegaon, near latur, in the Marathwada region on Friday evening.

Ruling out any sabotage behind the incident, initial reports from latur said that the explosion that took place inside a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus was an accident. “The mishap took place at 7.30 pm when an overheated engine inside the bus blew up causing a loud noise,” reports said.

The MSRTC bus, being operated between latur and Udgir, was about to depart from Nalegaon bus stand, when the mishap took place. “Anywhere from 10 to 15 passengers were injured in the mishap,” the reports added.
