After receiving rap by the Supreme Court, on the police assault case involving a Dalit girl, the Punjab Government on Sunday ordered the transfer of Tarn Taran Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).
The move came after the Punjab Government gave an undertaking in the Apex Court that SSP Tarn Taran Kamaljit Singh Dhillon would be transferred and two other constables responsible for the assault on woman will be dismissed too.
The Supreme Court had rejected the magisterial probe report and passed strictures against Punjab Government for trying to protect accused policemen.
Dhillon has been posted as Commandant of fifth Battalion, Bahadurgarh. He reportedly failed to respond to protect the girl when she complained against policemen.
