Despite a Statewide man hunt, the youth afflicted with coronavirus, and who escaped from the Villupuram General Hospital last week, remained elusive which has baffled the Tamil Nadu Police.

Nithin Sharma, who came to Puducherry from New Delhi, to attend an interview, was taken into custody by the officials of the health department along with a group of persons who had returned from New Delhi after attending a religious congregation. The  group was found to be free of corona virus  in the first test and they were allowed to go home. But four persons including the  Delhi youth tested positive for corona virus in the second test. Though the police managed to catch hold of the three persons tested positive, Sharma, gave a slip to the police and escaped  from the surveillance network in the district.

While the police had declined to reveal the identity of the individual along woth his name and picture, Sharma  escaped from all possible hideouts in the distroct. The news from ICMR that a corona virus carrier could infect 406 persons over a period of 30 days made the police  release his name and details. But by the time the police constituted seven teams to nab Sharma, he managed to escape  from Tamil Nadu itself.

A man-hunt is on zero ion on the youth, reported to be a catering diploma holder. Nithin Sharma is giving Tamil Nadu police sleepless days and nights. It is feared that he could have boarded some long distance trucks and fled the state in his “Return To Delhi” mission.
