A 26-year-old tailor committed suicide after strangling his pregnant wife to death in his home located at Gandhi Nagar area in East Delhi, police said Wednesday. The bodies were spotted by a neigbour on Wednesday evening, when he reached to meet Sanjay. He immediately informed the police.
Police said Sanjay’s body was hanging from the ceiling fan while his wife Sugandhi, 24 was lying on the bed. No suicide note was found. “It seems Sanjay first strangled his wife with her scarf, which was recovered and later hanged himself,” said a police officer. The bodies were sent for the postmortem examination. The police was trying to get the details of their phone calls to get any lead behind the extreme step.
