Sushil Modi trains guns on CM again

Without any let-up in his attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, senior BJP leader and former State Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi has claimed that Kumar squandered away his “political capital” by compromising with his principles of anti-Congressism for remaining in power in the State.

Speaking at a party function in Patna on Tuesday to mark the imposition of Emergency in the country in 1975, Modi said that Kumar should also not forget that the Congress also enjoyed the power with the RJD from 2000 to 2005 when the “jungle raj” was prevailing in Bihar.

“The Chief Minister should remember that he has entered into a friendship with the same Congress which subjugated democratic institutions by imposing Emergency in the country,” he noted.

Modi, an old time friend of Kumar said that the Congress could not curb its dictatorial tendencies all these years but the Chief Minister in a bid to save his Government did not find anything wrong in taking the party’s support. He said that the people have voted for the NDA Government in the 2010 State Assembly election for good governance and better law and order situation but not on the issue of BJP Prime Ministerial candidate.

“Nitish Kumar has only betrayed and insulted the mandate of the people by snapping ties with the BJP in the name of Narendra Modi and on the possibility of his projection as the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate for the 2014 lok Sabha election,” he added.

He said that RJD chief lalu Prasad and Kumar who are also referred as “Bade Bhai and Chhote Bhai” are now competing with each other to prove themselves who is a better supporter of the Congress.

Modi said that Kumar is trying to come closer to the Congress at a time when an anti-Congress wave is sweeping the entire country as witnessed in 1977. On the Bagha police firing in which seven people have been killed the former Deputy Chief Minister said that the governance has become the biggest casualty in the present political situation when Kumar managed to save his Government by using his “jugadu technology”.

“The administrative officers have become casual in their approach and hence innocent people are getting killed in the police firing in such a way,” he added. The State Government also could not take appropriate action for providing support to the people of the State, stranded in the Kedaranth natural calamity due to the poor governance in the post-split situation.
