Former BSP legislator’s arrest at Santkabirnagar led to a massive protest by the supporters on Tuesday evening.
The incensed mob not only peppered the cops with missiles and ransacked the police station, but also forced the release of the detained the leader. Initially, senior officers coaxed the former MlA to pacify his supporters and defuse the stir, but later they booked the leader for violence, damage to public property, creating hurdle in the discharge of their official duties etc.
Upon learning of the violent situation, the DM and SP of Sant Kabir Nagar rushed to the troubled spot and had a dialogue with the former MlA.
