Twelve teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) will airlift pilgrims stranded at Kedarnath and Badrinath.
Around 500 NDRF personnel have reached the state head quarter. The teams are all set to start operations in the areas that suffered massive damage in the heavy rains. However, the rescue operation would be started only after rains stop.
The teams are waiting for rains to stop. Among those stranded is a team of seven foreigners trekking in Govind Ghat, Chamoli who were stuck due to the inclement weather. Efforts are on to rescue them.
