The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), which conducts examination for Government subordinate services appointments, has decided to recommend a CBI inquiry into the alleged paper leak in one of its tests held on February 21.
In a statement, SSC chairman Ashim Khurana said that a delegation of candidates, who were protesting against the alleged paper leaks, met him along with BJP Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari and handed over a memorandum. BJP MP also led a delegation of protesting SSC aspirants and met Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday, who assured them to probe into the paper leak. After that, the SSC issued a statement to this effect.
They have demanded a CBI enquiry into the allegations of leak of questions of the Combined Graduate level (Tier-II) Examination 2017-18 held from February 17 to 22. "The commission agreed recommending to the Department of Personnel and Training to request the Government to conduct a CBI enquiry into the allegations of leak of questions of Paper-I on February 21, and other related issues," the statement said. Earlier, anti corruption crusader Anna Hazare met the protesting SSC aspirants and endorsed their demand to CBI probe. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday had demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged leak.
The aspirants have been protesting outside the SSC office at CGO complex in lodhi Road since February 27, 2018, seeking a probe into the alleged paper leak.
They have claimed that the entire process of SSE examination is fraudulent and all the seats are fixed where papers get leaked. The aspirants appearing for the examination have stated that they feel giving an exam is a waste. A delegation of aspirants had gone to the Chairman of SSE asking for a CBI probe but the chairman refused to give any explanation.
SSC holds exams for non-gazetted posts in central ministries. The exam was held on two days 17th and 22nd February. Approximately 1,89,843 candidates appeared for 9372 vacancies to be filed under SSC CGl (combined graduation level) Tier II exams. On Feb 24, SSC released a notice saying the exam held on February 21 was delayed due to "technical reasons" and will be re-conducted on March 9.
