Shah Rukh Khan -the King of Romance- Tuesday charmed his fans in the picturesque Sonamarg before filming a song sequence of Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming movie-Dunki.

The two big names have teamed up for the first time to entertain the audiences.

Riding high on the success of Pathaan, the bollywood star received a grand welcome on his arrival in Srinagar on Monday. He later drove to a scenic resort in Sonamarg where he is staying with his film crew.

Before the arrival of Shah Rukh Khan at the sets of the movie a large number of local residents, tourists and SRK fans were seen eagerly waiting to receive him. Before the shoot the production team had finalised the locations near Thajiwas glacier last week.

Elaborate security arrangements were made by the local authorities to ensure incident free shooting. As his cavalcade arrived King Khan reciprocated the greetings with folded hands after waving at the crowd. The shooting involved filming of a song sequence in the picturesque locales of Sonamarg in the backdrop of snow clad mountains. The film crew had earlier shot the movie across different locations in Saudi Arabia and finished the schedule in December 2022. Shah Rukh had last visited the valley during shooting of the Jab Tak hai Jaan in October 2012.

After the launch of the Film policy in J&k in August 2021, the Union Territory administration is aggressively wooing film directors and production houses to plan shooting schedules across different locations of Kashmir valley.

So far several production houses have visited different locations to shoot film sequences. Official sources said while peace is prevailing in J&k the region is  emerging as a preferred shooting location for the film industry. In the last two years  more than 150 films and web series have been shot in the UT.
