Dr Sundergopal Sridhar, a distinguished chemical engineer and chief scientist at CSIR Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad, has been honored as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), London, UK. With over 26 years in research, Dr. Sridhar’s innovations extend to medical-grade ultrapure water systems for dialysis, atmospheric water generators for arid regions, and cost-effective masks during the COVID-19 pandemic, which benefited over 6 lakh people and generated substantial revenue for NGOs.
His career highlights also include pioneering membrane pilot plants for various industrial applications and designing over 75 water purification plants to address water-borne diseases affecting millions.
